The Cottage

Our Review
By Jon Donni
Good British horror comedies are very rare these days, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a film I expected to be awful, turning out to be quite good.

We start off with David and Peter who have kidnapped a girl Tracey (Jennifer Elison) with the aim of making some money out of her rich father, unfortunately said father is an underworld crime boss, and Tracey is a hard as nails scouser.

The first 45 minutes is pretty standard stuff, Jennifer Elison plays her part perfectly as the loud, rude, tough and obnoxious young woman threatening her capters and making them feel rather stupid.

Eventually Traceys dad sends his oriental hench men to come and sort the kidnappers out, but no one realises there is a saistic deformed killer living in the basement, and as soon as he gets out people start getting chopped up very soon.

As soon as "The farmer" gets out, this film gets very very gory, butnever loses its fun factor, the killer was never gonna be better than Jason Vorhees, but gives it a damn good go. There is even a nice semi twist at the end too.

If you like gore, and fancy a laugh then check this out, and if you think Jennifer Elison is hot, then you will LOVE this film.

I will give this film a foot chopping 8/10

Movie Details
In the dead of night, a car arrives at a secluded country cottage. Bickering constantly, brothers David (Andy Serkis) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith) climb out to inspect the hideaway.

The pair have set aside their differences for a quick moneymaking scheme - a kidnapping. Tracey (Jennifer Ellison), bound, gagged and unconscious, is locked in the trunk of the car. Her black sheep step-brother Andrew (Steven O'Donnell) is also in on the scheme.

The kidnapping however goes completely wrong with Tracey turning the tables on her captors and escaping with Peter as a hostage. David and Andrew follow them into the woods but they soon discover something far more terrifying is lurking in the darkness. The stage is set for a grotesquely comic battle for survival when our characters encounter a maniacal Farmer. Who will survive and what will be left of them?
