The Bank Job

Our Review
By Jon Donnis
Inspired by an extraordinary true event, a daring, unsolved robbery, which took place more than 35 years ago in London, The Bank Job is apparently the true story behind what happened.

To be honest when it comes to stories like this that apparently tell the truth behind an incident, I tend to ignore that and just enjoy the film for what it is.

The plot is quite simple Terry (Jason Statham) gets convinced to rob a bank by his old flame Martine (Saffron Burrows), he sees it as a way to solve his current money problems as a dodgy car dealer.

He gets his little gang together and they plan to rob the bank, the twist is that it is the British Government behind it all in an effort to get hold of some photographs showing a royal in an intimate moment with a man who is not her husband.

Jason Statham seems to grow as an actor, and being a big fan of his film Crank I had high hopes for this film.

I was pleasantly surprised, this film delivers big time.

A sneaky 8/10

But, Terry and his crew don't realize the boxes also contain a treasure trove of dirty secrets--secrets that will thrust them into a deadly web of corruption and illicit scandal that spans London's criminal underworld, the highest echelons of the British government, and the Royal Family itself--the true story of a heist gone wrong, in all the right ways.
