Our Review By Jon Donni
I was expecting a lot from 10000BC as the trailers for it have looked stunning, we have Mammoths, Sabre Tooth Cats, and big fight scenes.
Ok so the film does give us big fight scenes, Mammoths and Sabre Tooth Cats, the problem is that I find it rather hard to care about any of the characters.
We have D'Leh, a young hunter who is in love with a girl called Evolet, she then gets kidnapped by some bad guys, and D'Leh and his merry band of warriors go on a mission to recover her, on the way they meet up with tribes who have also lost people to these kidnappers, so they join in the hunt.
Eventually you find out that these kidnappers are mearly collecting slaves for the "Almighty" a pharoah worshipped as a God, these slaves are put to work building pyramids and so on.
Its an obvious ending, and although the special effects are amazing, the creatures very life like, I just was left with this empty feeling, mainly due to not really caring about the characters.
This is the second really big film of the year after Cloverfield, and it is probably as disappointing as that film.
If you want a night out where you can see some cool CGI then see this film, otherwise wait for it to come on DVD.
I would give this film an uninspiring 6/10
